Ticket FAQ

How will I get my tickets?
Booking confirmation will be sent to you via email, please bring the attached PDF tickets to bring with you or show them on a mobile device.

I’m a member do I still need to book?
If you are a member of English Heritage or Historic Houses Association you do not need to book in advance for the Castle but please bring your cards with you to be allowed entry. Corporate memberships to English Heritage are not valid at this associated attraction.

Do I need to book to visit the Park only?
No, the pay & display car park is open from 10.30am-5pm for access to the Park, Woodland Walks and Children’s Playground. There is no need to book in advance for this.

How close to visiting can I book?
You can book online on the day of your visit if there are still time slots available.

Can I book on the phone?
Tickets can only be booked online at the moment.

How long can I stay?
You should arrive within the time shown on your ticket, once you are in you are welcome to stay as long as you like. Please be aware the Castle closes at 5pm.

Can I arrive early?
You can arrive to the park at anytime during opening hours but your ticket time is the earliest you can enter the Castle. The pay & display car park at Lulworth Castle is open from 10.30am-5pm for access to the woodland walks, parkland and children’s playground.

What is included in my ticket?
Your ticket gives you access to the Lulworth Castle including its museum and St Mary’s Chapel.

Is there a booking fee?
No.

What if I miss my time slot?
We’ll do our best to fit you in if we can, but if we’ve reached capacity for the time slot when you arrive, you will have to wait until the next available time slot.

I’ve forgotten my booking confirmation – can I still get in?
No. You can show us your booking confirmation as a printout or on your mobile device, but without it, we won’t be able to let you in.

I’ve forgotten to bring my membership card, will you let me in?
We are an associated site only so without your membership cards we will not be able to check your membership or let you in.

I’ve changed my plans, can I swap my tickets or get a refund?
Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Can you post me my booking confirmation or tickets?
No, booking confirmations are sent by email only. You can print it out or just bring it with you on your mobile device.

Can I use my phone?
Yes, our scanners can scan the barcode from your confirmation email from a mobile phone or tablet.

Why can’t I select the time slot that I want?
Time slots are offered on a morning or afternoon arrival time.  We have a limited capacity for each time slot, and some time slots are likely to be more popular than others.

Will I get a refund if the site closes on the day I’ve booked?
If we have to close a site, we will automatically refund your tickets. You won’t need to call us to request it, but it may take up to five working days to reach your account.

I haven’t received my confirmation email
Please check that it hasn’t gone to your spam folder first. If you still can’t find it, call us on 01929 400352

I am a corporate member of English Heritage, how do I book?
Corporate Members of English Heritage are not valid at Lulworth Castle as we are an associated attraction. Only full English heritage memberships qualify for free entry and only need to show cards on arrival.

What ticket should I get for my child?
You don’t need to book or pay for under-fours, just let us know how many little ones are in your group when you arrive. For those children aged 4 to 15, please buy ‘child’ tickets.

Is there a student discount?
Sorry there are no student tickets.

Can I take my child’s pram in the castle?
We recommend leaving prams and buggies in the tearooms or entrance as the route takes you up stairs and over uneven historic floors and through narrow doorways. Disabled access to the building is via the north door and there is a lift to the upper floor but not the tower.

I am disabled, can I bring a helper?
Yes, you can bring a carer or companion helper for free, there is no need to book their ticket just let us know when you arrive.  Please be aware there have been some changes to the visitor route and disabled entrance into the building, please look for signage when you visit.

How do I pay?
We accept Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard

I have a family pass, can I use this to book tickets?
There is no need to book a Family Pass visit in advance just remember bring your pass with you and hand it in at the ticket desk.

How do I book an education group?
Please email events@lulworth.com to arrange a school visit.
