The Role:
Are you looking for a role that is both fun and unique? Would you like to join a dedicated team committed to caring for and showcasing a beautiful castle in a stunning Dorset location?
Originally built as a hunting lodge for visiting aristocracy and royalty, Lulworth Castle has for centuries been the family seat of the Weld Family, the current owners of the Lulworth Estate. Damaged by fire in 1929, the castle has been lovingly restored and is now a premier tourist attraction and stunning events venue. The wider Lulworth Estate also encompasses Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and a beautiful section of the Jurassic Coast.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our passionate team as a Castle Custodian. This is a varied and exciting role with a focus on visitor experience, upkeep, security and day-to-day presentation of the castle and surrounding areas, ensuring a safe, welcoming and memorable experience for all visitors.
Interacting with our visitors, providing the highest level of customer service and ensuring a memorable visit are all huge parts of this role, therefore all applicants must be confident and enthusiastic and have a passion for history, museums and historic buildings.
This is an active, hands on role, working both indoors and outdoors in all seasons. The working hours are full time and will include some weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays.
