We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Assistant Manager to lead The Weld Arms – an historic, character-filled inn with rooms, nestled on the stunning Lulworth Estate, just a stone’s throw from the iconic Lulworth Castle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily bar and restaurant operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and a high-quality guest experience.
  • Take accountability for performance, including operations, customer experience, team management, and financial results, ensuring standards are consistently met.
  • Handle cash, card, and account transactions with accuracy and integrity.
  • Manage staffing rotas, absences, and holiday planning to ensure effective coverage and team wellbeing.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing staff training to build a confident, motivated team.
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, and replenishment while maintaining accurate records and cost awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations across all areas of operation.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the premises and surrounding areas.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance guest satisfaction, menu offerings, and service delivery in line with trends and customer feedback.
  • Support the implementation of new initiatives or projects as directed by the General Manager.
  • Report any maintenance, damage, or safety issues promptly and ensure swift resolution.
  • Uphold and contribute positively to the Estate’s values and culture, ensuring a positive, respectful and professional environment.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as required for the smooth and effective running of the business.
