The Role:

Home to some of the most iconic landscapes on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, Lulworth Cove welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. We are committed to delivering an exceptional visitor experience while carefully managing and protecting this unique environment.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Visitor Experience Officer to support the delivery of visitor engagement, marketing, operational management and programme delivery at Lulworth Cove.
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and organised individual who enjoys working in a dynamic, visitor-focused environment where no two days are the same.

About the Role
The Visitor Experience Officer plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation and visitor experience at Lulworth Cove. The role combines operational management, visitor engagement, marketing and communications, programme coordination and duty management responsibilities. You will work closely with colleagues across the Estate to ensure visitors receive a safe, welcoming and memorable experience while supporting the commercial and operational objectives of the Estate. This is a hands-on role requiring excellent communication, organisational and operational management skills, alongside a proactive and positive approach.

Key Responsibilities
Visitor Experience & Engagement
• Deliver an outstanding visitor experience across Lulworth Cove and associated visitor areas
• Act as a visible and approachable presence on site, engaging positively with visitors
• Support the development and delivery of visitor engagement initiatives and interpretation
• Respond professionally and effectively to visitor enquiries, feedback and complaints
• Monitor visitor satisfaction and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Support the promotion of responsible tourism and environmental awareness

Marketing & Communications
• Assist in the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns and promotional activity
• Create engaging content for social media channels, website updates and visitor communications
• Support digital marketing initiatives including email marketing and online promotion
• Maintain accurate and engaging visitor information across digital and physical platforms
• Capture content including photography and video where appropriate
• Help strengthen the profile and reputation of the Lulworth Estate visitor offer

Programme & Event Delivery
• Coordinate and deliver seasonal events, activities and visitor programmes
• Support the planning and logistics of public engagement activities and experiences
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver successful events
• Monitor programme performance and visitor engagement outcomes

Operations & Duty Management
• Support the day-to-day operational management of visitor areas and facilities
• Act as Duty Manager as required, ensuring smooth and safe site operations
• Assist with incident response and operational problem-solving
• Ensure high standards of presentation, cleanliness and visitor readiness across the site
• Support health and safety compliance and operational procedures
• Liaise with tenants, contractors, emergency services and operational partners when required
• Assist with managing busy visitor periods and traffic flow where necessary

Team Support & Collaboration
• Work collaboratively across departments including hospitality, retail, estate and operations teams
• Support and assist seasonal staff and volunteers where appropriate
• Contribute positively to team culture and continuous improvement initiatives

Person Specification
Essential Experience & Skills

• Experience in a visitor attraction, tourism, hospitality, heritage or leisure environment
• Experience in marketing, communications or visitor engagement delivery
• Operational or duty management experience in a customer-facing environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Experience creating content for social media and digital communications
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Confident decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Flexible approach to working hours including weekends and holidays
• Competent IT and digital skills

Desirable
• Experience delivering events or visitor programmes
• Knowledge of the tourism or heritage sector
• First Aid qualification
• Full UK driving licence
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures in visitor environments
