Job Summary

Our Visitor Facilities Assistant plays a key role in creating a welcoming, positive, and enjoyable experience for everyone visiting Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. By ensuring facilities are clean, safe, and easy to use, this role helps visitors feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit. The position is practical and hands‑on, contributing directly to smooth daily operations and high overall visitor satisfaction.

Role Purpose

You will help create a positive and memorable experience for all visitors to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, ensuring visitor facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming throughout the day. You will respond promptly to issues to maintain a smooth and enjoyable visitor experience, maintaining high standards through a proactive, hands‑on approach to daily operations.

This is a part time, seasonal role working 5 days/30 hours per week on a rota basis (including weekends and Bank Holidays) between April and October 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Visitor experience - providing welcoming, friendly and helpful assistance to visitors, addressing minor issues and escalating urgent matters, ensuring our facilities enhance the overall visitor experience.
  • Operational support - performing routine checks of bins, toilets, car parks and paths, keeping all facilities clean, safe and presentable, resolving minor maintenance issues, reporting safety concerns and supporting waste management.
  • Health and safety - following procedures, identifying hazards, assisting with routine risk checks, supporting emergency procedures.
  • Teamwork and communication - working collaboratively with the Facilities Manager and Visitor Experience team, communicating clearly when reporting issues or operational requirements.
  • Sustainability - promote environmentally responsible practices, encourage efficient use of water and resources, suggest simple improvements to strengthen sustainability and operational performance.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of safe working practices.
  • Strong practical skills and a hands‑on approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Clear, confident communication with visitors, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Reliable and proactive, with a willingness to take initiative.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, presentation, and detail.
  • Friendly, visitor‑focused, positive in all interactions, calm and helpful during peak periods.
  • Enjoys practical, physical work in an outdoor environment.
