The Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced, versatile and skilled individual to join our expanding Buildings department!
Our estate encompasses residential and commercial property lets, retail outlets, a holiday park, Lulworth Castle, the world-renowned Durdle Door and a magnificent section of the Jurassic Coast. As an experienced Painter and Decorator you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks whilst working in a dynamic and diverse environment. The role requires a high level of independence and excellent time management skills. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and be adaptable to different tasks and environments, including historic, modern, residential and commercial buildings.
This is a full time, permanent role working 39 hours per week Monday to Friday, with a generous salary, subject to experience. Applicants should be able to demonstrate practical experience and skills and will hold relevant qualifications.
Skills/Experience required:
– Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a similar role.
– A recognised qualification – City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent.
– Demonstrable knowledge of all aspects of painting and decorating, both internal and external.
– Strong attention to detail, taking pride in maintaining high standards of work.
– Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well on your own and also as part of a team.
– A full UK driving licence and the ability to reliably commute to our remote location.
– Ability and knowledge in other building trades is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and decoration of interior and exterior surfaces using both traditional and modern painting and decorating techniques.
- Surface preparation including sanding, filling, priming and making good.
- Wallpaper hanging and specialist finishes where required.
- Re-decoration of estate cottages, offices, retail spaces, and public areas.
- Careful work within listed and heritage properties, ensuring appropriate materials and methods are used.
- Minor repair works associated with decorating tasks.
- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
- Working collaboratively with clients, other members of the team and wider Estate staff.
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations.
- Identifying and reporting any defects to Estate property identified during the course of your work.
