Church Weddings
St. Andrews Church is a beautiful venue with a fascinating history, perfect for those after their dream church wedding. If you would like to enquire about using the local parish, please contact Church Warden Paul Pinnock. Contact details below.
Local Residents
If one of you lives in the parish of East Lulworth or adjoining parishes of West Lulworth, Winfrith Newburgh or East Chaldon you are entitled to use St. Andrews for your wedding ceremony.
There are also other qualifying criteria, such as parents being regular attendees at one of the above churches. This subject can be discussed with the priest in charge.
Non Local Residents
If you do not live in the parish/benefice, the most popular way to qualify for marriage at St. Andrews is to:
- Attend worship on a regular basis at St. Andrews for a period of 6 months
The services are typically 9am for Holy Communion on the first and third Sunday of the month. You will also need to contact your local church to have your Banns read there and provide a certificate to say this has been done.
There are other options available, please go to the following website for details – www.yourchurchwedding.org “finding a church”.
Wedding Blessings
This can be arranged following a civil ceremony, and the certificate of marriage must be produced before the blessing takes place.
Booking
Whichever route you choose, you will need to fix a suitable time to meet with the designated priest who will help you to plan your service and prepare for marriage.
Formal identification documents will be required.
