Lose Yourself in Luxury in this Charming Coastal Manor
The Lindens is a beautifully renovated 18th century manor house and lies within the peaceful and pretty village of East Lulworth, a stone’s throw from the majestic Lulworth Castle, the idyllic Lulworth Cove and iconic rock arch of Durdle Door. The Lindens sleeps 16 (+2), and with gracious high ceilings, open fires and wooden flooring, it’s one of Dorset’s hidden treasures. Ready to relax or entertain in, the scale and grandeur of the house may take your breath away, yet manages to instil a cosy tranquillity where all can feel comfortable and at home.
Please be aware that over the last weekend in July each year, Camp Bestival takes place at Lulworth Castle. During the weeks around the festival, please note that the Castle Grounds will be closed to the public, and there will be some road traffic diversions in place in the local area. Please expect heavy traffic in the immediate vicinity over the festival itself, and an increase in festival production vehicles for an extended period before and after the weekend.

Full Description
East Lulworth is a historic yet untouched village on the coastal edge of gorgeous Dorset countryside. Only 5 minutes from the coast, and within easy reach of both Lulworth Cove and the iconic Durdle Door, The Lindens is set on the edge of Lulworth Castle Park. Its proximity to Lulworth Castle makes for ideal wedding accommodation for the whole family. The Weld Arms Pub & Kitchen is within walking distance and serves incredible locally sourced food and drink. Past & Presents is a gift shop and cafe which offers local art, quirky antiques and fantastic homewares and gifts. Slightly further afield, there are convenience stores in the nearby villages of West Lulworth and Wool, and all major supermarkets are able to deliver groceries directly to The Lindens. There are several lovely walks from The Lindens. Lulworth Lake is a hidden gem right in the middle of the Lulworth countryside. Arish Mell, your closest accessible coastal walk, is within Ministry of Defence land and while the beach itself is inaccessible, the views from the surrounding hills are unmissable. Of course, the walks from Lulworth Castle Park are stunning and really give a feel for the country estate.
The manor house has a suite of reception rooms ready to give your guests a warm welcome. The large Drawing Room, with a gorgeous large woodburning fireplace for your use, has views over the beautifully maintained garden laid to lawn, and the French windows of the Garden Room open directly onto the south-facing lawn. Perfect for a pre-wedding get-together ahead of your Lulworth wedding, your guests will have plenty of room for dancing. The lawn is also ideal for your pre-wedding photos, with the whitewashed walls of The Lindens providing the perfect backdrop.
The two staircases lead to the eight superb bedrooms, two of which benefit from an ensuite bathroom. The remainder of the bedrooms would share one of the upper floor family bathrooms which have both walk-in showers and dreamy baths. A comfortable cotton robe is also provided for each person, along with fluffy white towels, pool towels, and Lulworth body wash, hand soap and shampoo. Two of the bedrooms (one kingsize and one twin), make a suite ideal for a family, teenagers, or four children together. The suite can also be used as separate rooms. Our Hypnos beds are all superking in size, with some that can be made into twin beds to ensure total flexibility at your request. In all bedrooms, we provide goose down and microfibre pillows, and luxuriously crisp white Beaumont & Brown linen for your comfort.
The jewel in the crown, Lulworth Castle Room is your master suite and features a dressing room as well as the largest of the bathrooms, with a stunning roll top bath as well as a double shower. The master suite also provides a pastelly vignette for your wedding photographer to capture those important ‘getting ready’ photos.
The Cinema Room, when not in use for playing Netflix movies or PlayStation games via the projector screen, acts as the ninth bedroom, converting the sofas into comfortable beds for two of your guests.
The luxurious kitchen is well-appointed with a large island, natural stone flooring (with under floor heating) and is equipped with both an AGA and large range cooker. The triple aspect space of the breakfast nook and table (to seat twelve) is full of light, and again overlooks the lawn, providing the perfect space to start your day.
Leading off the kitchen, the family snug is fun and full of comfort, allowing children to play to their hearts’ content – perfect for when the adults are cooking or after some quiet time! The separate, bespoke dining room sets the scene for the most spectacular of meals; a sumptuous room with parquet flooring and a large, custom oak table to seat 16 is ready for all to dine and celebrate. Accessed from both the kitchen and the family snug, a large private terrace is the perfect space for al fresco dining. A table large enough to seat 18, with a large parasol to block the sun and a charcoal barbecue can all be found here to facilitate those long, luxurious summer evenings with family and friends.
Across from the terrace is the Games Room, set in a converted coach house, where those of all ages can enjoy a range of gym equipment with TV, foosball table, toys, games and activities. Tennis, and croquet equipment is available for those eager for the outdoors. The hardstanding tennis court sits within acres of private expansive grounds, woodlands and gardens, allow for both times to play, relax and the opportunity to explore.
Set upon another terrace is a heated swimming pool, perfect for a splash whilst the sun is shining (open April-September), luxury pool loungers are provided for your comfort.
