Quirky and Full of Character
Named for the bubbling, crystal clear spring which feeds the Mill Pond opposite the cottage, Spring Cottage is characterful and full of period features, including a thatched roof and huge inglenook fireplace. The spring runs alongside the cottage for a soothing backdrop and friendly resident ducks.
Just 200 metres from Lulworth Cove, this quirky and charming 18th century cottage is a lovely little coastal retreat. Relax in the garden with a book, stroll to the beach for an ice cream or get out onto the Jurassic Coast and explore the great outdoors.
“Spring Cottage has been beautifully refurbished. I absolutely love Lulworth Holidays and am a regular customer. The staff are friendly and everything is run so efficiently. Lulworth Cove is an absolutely delight. I have booked again for next year!”
“My husband and I and our 3 dogs decided to go to Lulworth for his birthday. The dogs were welcomed everywhere, which was so nice for us! The cottage was a real English chocolate box cottage, cute, old and full of character equipped with everything we needed, including a wonderful cozy log burner. Walks with the dogs to Durdle Door and down to the stunning beach and the 360° views were beyond beautiful. This coastline is 135 million years old and we didn’t want to go home! Food in the pubs was delicious. We couldn’t have had a better break. We will definitely go back!!”
A maximum of 2 well behaved dogs are welcome and well provided for; you will find food and water bowls, a towel and poo bags for your dog(s). Please be aware that due to its period features the staircase is quite steep and unsuitable for small children or those who are unsteady on their feet.
Spring Cottage, fully renovated for 2021, sleeps up to four in two bedrooms. The master bedroom benefits from a king sized bed, goose down and microfibre pillows, and luxuriously crisp white Beaumont & Brown linen for your comfort. Snug, yet well equipped with bedside ledges and lamps, the master bedroom provides ample storage space, as well as a stunning new ensuite bathroom with shower. The second bedroom, across the landing, spaciously accommodates two single beds. Both bedrooms have lovely views over the spring and gardens.
The well-appointed family-size bathroom, on the first floor, has a shower over a bath and a heated towel rail. A comfortable cotton robe is also provided for each person, along with fluffy white towels, pool towels, and Lulworth body wash, hand soap and shampoo.
The dining room has a spacious table for four besides a gorgeous inglenook feature. A fully-equipped kitchen is found to the rear of the property. The newly fitted kitchen has a dishwasher, pantry, 70/30 fridge-freezer, and gas oven and grill with 4 burner hob. There’s also a smaller breakfast table upon which you may enjoy your morning coffee.
The sitting room, with a comfortable two-seater sofa and two armchairs, is arranged around the stunning inglenook fireplace and TV and DVD player. You will find logs and kindling for your use, to enjoy cosy evenings by a roaring fire.
The property’s lovely front garden, featuring a patio area with seating under the eaves, has established flowerbeds, mature shrubs and a grass lawn. We provide a table and chairs with a parasol for making the most of the afternoon sunshine beside the bubbling spring, perfect for relaxing after a hard day on the beach or water.
The pedestrianised street directly outside Cove Cottage leads through the village and its many restaurants, cafes, gift shops, The Doll’s House Confectionary Shop and ice cream kiosks, down to Lulworth Cove itself. At certain points of the day you may well have the beach entirely to yourselves, to watch the fishermen bring in their day’s catch.
The property has allocated, off-road parking for two vehicles in a privately accessed, gated driveway. Complimentary parking across the Lulworth Estate is included in your stay upon receipt of your car registration number, allowing you unlimited access to Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Lulworth Castle Park. For day trips further afield, there is a bus stop within West Lulworth village, with links to Poole, Weymouth and Swanage.
