No.8 Coastguard Cottages

Customer Review

“Our stay at Lulworth Cove was unforgettable.  No 8 Coastguards has the most stunning window that directly overlooks the Cove itself and we spent a lot of our time looking out at the view.  Sunrise with a strong coffee was a particular highlight.  The cottage itself is beautifully put together and the layout, with the sitting room on the first floor, enables you to make the most of the location.   Communication with staff were spot on and always helpful.  We’ll definitely be back.”

Full Description

No.8 sleeps up to five people in three bedrooms: On the first floor you’ll find the master bedroom with a king-size bed, as well as another bedroom with one single bed. A further bedroom on the ground floor makes for accessible accommodation for a further two people in either a superking or two twin beds depending on your preference. Each bedroom has stunning views of the local surroundings including the nearby coastal path to Durdle Door beach. We provide goose down and microfibre pillows, and luxuriously crisp white Beaumont & Brown linen for your comfort.

There are two bathrooms: one with a shower and WC on the first floor, and another on the ground floor with a handheld shower over a bath. A comfortable cotton robe is also provided for each person, along with fluffy white towels, beach towels, and Lulworth body wash, hand soap and shampoo.

A maximum of 2 well behaved dogs are welcome and well provided for; you will find food and water bowls, a towel and poo bags for your dog(s).

The living room is situated on the first floor to take advantage of the incredible views over to Lulworth Cove. Fling open the windows to hear the waves crashing on the pebble beach. The coastal-inspired living room has comfy sofas as well as cosy window seats, an electric flame effect woodburner, TV and DVD player.

The kitchen area is well equipped with a double range oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is a dining table to seat six. You will find logs and kindling for your use in the woodburner, to enjoy cosy evening meals by a roaring fire. Just off the kitchen is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The rear door leads to your private courtyard and lawn with borders and garden furniture.

Directly outside No. 8 is allocated, off-road parking for two vehicles in a privately accessed, gated driveway. Complimentary parking across the Lulworth Estate is included in your stay upon receipt of your car registration number, allowing you unlimited access to Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Lulworth Castle Park. For day trips further afield, there is a bus stop within West Lulworth village, with links to Poole, Weymouth and Swanage.

In front of the Coastguard Cottages is a large, grassed area ideal for picnics and exercise, from which leads paths to Lulworth Cove and Stair Hole.

The pedestrianised street to the left of the parking area leads through the village and its many restaurants, cafes, gift shops, The Doll’s House Confectionary Shop and ice cream kiosks, down to Lulworth Cove itself. At certain points of the day you may well have the beach entirely to yourselves, to watch the fishermen bring in their day’s catch.

We have carefully curated a fantastic welcome folder full of information about the cottage, Lulworth and the local area. If you want to know more, our experienced holiday team are more than happy to provide recommendations for a memorable dinner, or where to pick up the best local produce. We hope you will enjoy a welcome basket of delicious locally produced bread, eggs, milk, biscuits, jam, tea, coffee and sugar.

Central heating and good Wi-Fi are included in your holiday. Phone signal may be limited so we have provided a landline for local calls.
