ACCOUNTS / PURCHASE LEDGER ASSISTANT
Estate Office, Lulworth Castle
The Lulworth Estate is looking for an experienced Accounts and Purchase Ledger Assistant to join its busy Accounts office working closely with others across the Estate and in particular, our Retail, Hospitality and Building departments.
The Lulworth Estate extends over 12,500 acres of beautiful Dorset countryside and includes five miles of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site. It is visited by hundreds of thousands of visitors every year and the estate’s business is very diverse.
Working both within our busy accounts department and other departments on the Estate as required.
Processing purchase ledger invoices and reconciling these to monthly statements and purchase orders.
Processing sales invoices and receipts.
Identifying and rectifying any discrepancies; liaising with other departments, customers and suppliers to resolve problems by telephone or email.
Processing credit card payments.
Entering invoices onto our Point-of-Sale system and other in-house systems.
Recording and managing stock as required.
Assisting in the reconciliation of incoming takings.
Any other work that may be required in the day to day running of the accounts department.
Able to work accurately and without supervision.
Have ability to check own work to identify errors.
Attention to detail essential and proactive attitude to problem solving.
A basic understanding of VAT and double entry bookkeeping.
Experience of using accounts packages to process information.
Efficient use of Excel.
Able to work under pressure.
Able to work efficiently in a busy environment.
AAT Level 2 qualifications
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (although we will consider alternative hours if requested).
Occasional weekend and Bank Holiday work required during busy periods but time given off in lieu.
